The Music Science team, responsible for audio analysis and Apple Music recommendations, is looking for an enthusiastic ML Data Engineer. Machine learning is at the core of their work, and you will have the opportunity to

• Implement distributed training data flow with massive data in TensorFlow

• Develop Spark data pipelines to ensure up-to-date training data for their core models

• Organise best practice training data storage and versioning for mid-sized datasets

• Deploy ML models in their online systems accessed by tens of millions of users every day

Key Qualifications

•Experience with Python and Spark

•Hands-on experience with ML model training and management

•Experience with Docker a huge plus

Their work relies on deeply understanding their customers’ listening habits and tastes, as well as the characteristics of the music, they offer them. Both number in the tens of millions, and one of their exciting challenges is making ML work at massive scale. This is where you come in.

You will work with other experienced engineers to make existing model training and deployment smooth and efficient. You will also work with highly knowledgeable ML scientists to assess the data needs for new models, and develop the future of recommender systems and music analysis.

They work with Keras, TensorFlow, Spark, and a wide array of complementary internal tools. They have access to massive compute clusters for training, inference and serving. On the service side, in particular, they provide live customer-facing features with millisecond latencies across multiple data centres around the world.

Education & Experience

Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or other quantitative disciplines. Other and equivalent backgrounds may be considered.
