The Open Data Science Community (ODSC) is one of the leaders in the exciting field of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. Along with our digital media assets including our blog site, video site, and webinars, we host some of the most groundbreaking sessions in topics such as machine learning, deep learning, conversational AI, and much more.

About the position

ODSC is seeking a Business Development Intern, you will work with the Business Development and Sales teams and help them prepare, evaluate and execute sales, community and business development campaigns. You will have an opportunity to work for one of the best Data Science event series and personally contribute to each ODSC event’s success. Responsibilities

  • Identify and outreach qualified leads for various sales campaigns
  • Identify different personas within an organization and execute email campaigns
  • Research companies, and individuals via web, LinkedIn and other online tools
  • Communicating new product developments to prospective clients
  • Providing management with feedback
  • Following up new business opportunities and setting up meetings
  • Market research and analysis: competitors, potential products and clients
  • Meet and exceed goals based on individual and team KPIs and goals
  • Document daily activities regarding research, lead generation and outreach
  • Report on weekly and monthly progress
  • Develop and Maintain positive relationships with partners
  • Attend networking events, community events and hearings to generate leads

Requirements

  • Experience in generating high-quality leads preferred B2B
  • Ability to convince and persuade
  • Confidence in interacting with a variety of individual by phone and in person
  • Experience using document management tools like google sheets and google docs
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Experience in Outbound Sales/Lead Generation
  • Experience with Email Sponsor/Partners Sales for events is a plus
  • Experience using LinkedIn and other tools to research companies and individuals
  • Keen eye on details
  • Startup experience is a plus
  • Data Science and AI knowledge is a plus
  • Insightly or other CRM tool experience is a plus

Work-hours: 8:30 am – 5:30 pm – Flexible
