Cloud Data Platform Quality Engineer Lead, Come join the “A” team and build the future at Bose
We are seeking a Quality Engineer Lead to be responsible for validation of the quality, performance, resiliency, and security of Bose’s cloud-based data platform, that facilitates the machine learning, data science analytics, and text processing initiatives that power and support Bose products. This platform also addresses the core need of having a single, consolidated record of the customer, to enable better customer experiences and improve business delivery.
Bose is transforming the way we use data to drive every aspect of our business, from better product experiences, to more personalized customer interactions, to improved business efficiencies. This new data platform provides a core set of capabilities that will be a foundational component for Bose’s digital and data transformation. Built using microservices that glue together best-of-breed open-source and commercial products, the platform runs in AWS using Bose’s cloud platform and makes use of current technologies such as Golang, Python, Spark, Kubernetes, Docker, Pulsar, Redis, React, and SQL & NoSQL databases. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
The Cloud Data Platform Quality Engineer Lead will have significant automation test experience in large-scale distributed systems, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills required to partner with product development teams, system architects, other quality engineers, and stakeholders across the business.
Responsibilities For This Job Include
- Lead the quality effort for the data platform, both as an individual contributor and quality evangelist as well as a technical lead for other quality engineers
- Hands-on involvement in all phases of product development, including planning, design, implementation, and execution of automated tests, defect logging and verification, and reporting results
- Participate in problem diagnosis, triage and prioritization, qualification of fixes, and root cause analysis
- Design and develop automation frameworks and test suites to test the Bose data platform and services
- Develop test automation across many perspectives: functional correctness, code quality, large-scale loading, transaction rate, chaos, security, business continuity
- Implement, track, and report key metrics to assure full coverage of functional and non-functional requirements
- Consistently improve test automation infrastructure and coverage
- Champion quality throughout the development process
Qualifications
- Experience developing or testing cloud-based microservices in AWS, Azure, or similar platforms
- Mastery of Python, Perl, JavaScript, or similar scripting languages
- Understanding and use of APIs in large-scale distributed systems a plus
- Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with Golang a plus
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical domain
- 5+ years experience in software development
- 2+ years experience designing, implementing, and executing automated tests
