Netflix is seeking a highly quantitative, driven, and intellectually curious associate to join Marketing & Communications SP&A team. They derive a significant competitive advantage from the highly analytical approach they take to managing the company, and the Strategy Planning & Analysis team plays a key role in this area. Senior leadership depends heavily on the SP&A groups to accurately model and forecast the business as well as to lead the strategic analysis that is used to inform important business decisions.
This role will report to the Manager, MarComms SP&A and sit in Los Angeles office.
Responsibilities
- Developing models and analysis to support decision-making to inform marketing & PR investment allocation and strategy
- Supporting near-term and long-term financial forecasts and consolidation of budgets
- Performing data analysis and developing insightful dashboards, memos & presentations that summarize the data
- Helping drive automation and reporting solutions via collaboration with business partners, Finance Technology, or Data Science & Engineering team
- Acting as the bridge between business teams and technical teams to gather system and data requirements
- Collaborating with the Data Science & Engineering team to improve data ecosystem and developing efficient ways for non-technical stakeholders to access and work with large data sets
Qualifications
- 3- 5 years of experience in a highly analytical environment (e.g. finance, management consulting, corporate analytics, strategy and operations, or other roles requiring a blend of analytical, strategic, and cross-functional work)
- Hands-on experience with SQL
- Expertise with spreadsheet-based tools like Google Sheets or Excel
- Strong analytical skills and an ability to synthesize information across a broad ecosystem to diagnose problems and devise solutions
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently, thrive in a fast-paced, always-changing environment
- Strong communicator; able to collaborate and maintain relationships with partners on both business teams and technical teams
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, engineering or other relevant field that demonstrates quantitative orientation
Nice to haves
- Experience working with programming languages (e.g. Python)
- Understanding of financial systems and processes, including Workday, Anaplan, Essbase
