Their Data Science team is working on utilising the latest software technologies and algorithms to help transform analytics within AXA. They are working with both internal and open source data and there is no limit on the techniques and tools that they will use to provide insight and transform their current analytic processes.
In this role, not only will you be working on a wide variety of machine learning projects such as telematics, pricing, smart houses etc, but you will also have the opportunity to define brand new and exciting projects for the team!
You will work closely with Pricing team, IT Architecture teams and operating companies to identify data challenges and opportunities.
You will be supporting the full life-cycle of a Big Data solution, including:
- Proof of concept execution to prove the value of Big Data use cases
- Use case and business case development
- Solution architecture formulation
You will also be responsible for supporting the implementation from requirements analysis, platform selection, technical architecture design, application design and development, testing and deployment.
You will answer data questions by using appropriate statistical techniques and communicate findings to stakeholders; drive the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources and analyse and interpret the results of scientific experiments.

Graduates
As well as a relevant degree in Maths, Engineering or Science you will need a statistical know-how and insatiable curiosity and drive. Unwilling to be bound by constraints, your creativity, drive and determination will help you overcome obstacles and deliver solutions above and beyond their expectations.
With your highly developed interpersonal skills you will be have no problem contextualizing and translating problems and solutions to a wide variety of interested parties finding common ground, skilful listening and effective storytelling.
If you are joining them without experience, you will be expected to work from their London office, where their wonderful skilled and experienced team members will be able to help you grow and develop into an all knowing and competent Data Scientist!
Experienced Candidates
If you have been working in a similar background – either in computing, development or coding, this role will allow you to fully utilise your experience and continue to further your career.
You will use your statistical modelling experience, technical engineering skills and data mining and analytical expertise, to explore and examine data from multiple disparate sources.
Working with the business and independently, you will define a problem statement, design and implement custom algorithms, process flows and layouts for complex data sets used for modelling to discover previously hidden insight to provide competitive advantage or address a pressing intelligence problem.
