About Core Host

The Core Host team is at the core of powering this mission, responsible for making sure that there is always the right type of place available for their guests. The team does this by ensuring that they have the right supply, at the right time, in the right place. They work to ensure that more homeowners join and thrive on Airbnb, that they support them and create a vibrant and activated community, and that they build best-in-class new verticals of inventory like boats or RVs.

You Will Interact With a Global And Cross-functional Team To Lead Initiatives Across

As a Senior Data Scientist within the Host team, you will leverage Airbnb’s rich data set to increase the number of hosts in their community and enable more matches with guests.

    • Building new products that will delight their hosts and help them be successful on Airbnb
    • Designing experiments to measure the impact of new features on their marketplace
    • Designing new data products to surface the right information, at the right time, for their hosts
    • Running strategic analysis to help inform the strategic direction of their fast-growing business
    • Developing deep relationships with cross-functional partners to advocate and implement a data-driven approach
    • Coaching, mentoring and hiring other members to help scale efficiency and growth across the team

Experience

    • 6+ years of professional experience, or Ph.D. in a quantitative field including Applied Math, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, or Computer Science
    • Experience as a Tech Lead or equivalent position is highly preferred
    • Experience working with cross-functional leadership
    • Proven achievements resulting from data analysis
    • Proven ability to succeed in both collaborative and independent work environments
    • Experience with languages used for querying (e.g. Hive/Pig/SQL), preprocessing (e.g. Unix/python), and statistical analysis (e.g. R/Python)
    • Experience developing or contributing to a technical roadmap or project planning is a plus
