About the role
You will develop experiments and algorithms/models to test ideas leading to an improvement in their business operations and products. Utilising a novice knowledge level of the Data Science Toolbox to participate in portions of the Data Science Project Lifecycle.
Alongside developing new data products, you will also maximise existing data assets and generate insight that shapes and informs key strategic and operational decisions.
Collaborate with senior team members to deliver Data Science projects with decision recommendations that fulfil business requirements and enhance existing and new business processes.
As part of a team you will develop a data driven culture and robust challenge process as well as well as inspiring Stakeholders with algorithmic solutions and provide commercially sound options to them.
You will have a degree in Mathematics, computer science or a related subject OR completed a data science conversion course.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills and have an appreciation for the commercial environment and how analytics can be used to drive recommendations. You will have experience with working as part of a team.
You will be comfortable working with unfamiliar data sets and performing intelligent data cleansing alongside experience of working with large data sets.
In addition to the above you will also have knowledge of Python (or similar) and SQL, high numerical and programming skills with some experience of using Scala, Java and R or similar.
You will have an understanding of big data technologies and knowledge of statistics, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals and A/B tests.
Starting salary £37,100 p.a. dependant on experience, potential 10% bonus, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
