Principal Data Scientist – Telco, Media & Entertainment 1023 views

Are you a telco, media, and entertainment industry technical or analytics expert with deep expertise working with telco operators and/or media broadcasting, film, publishing, new media, or agency space? Are you passionate about the transformation that data is driving around consumer experiences, 5G, and new direct to consumer models? Are you a technical thought leader who can clearly communicate a strong vision to both internal account teams and external customers on how telco and media companies need to transform their businesses around data-centered decisioning?

They are currently seeking a technical leader to join the Telco, Media & Entertainment Industry Team focused on growing their telco and media business across the globe. This role requires expert knowledge of the telco, media, and entertainment industry, a strong understanding of industry architectures, back end systems, and data pipelines, and the ability to work closely with sales teams and solution architects to advance their growth in the telco and media industry accounts and talent in developing technical assets including architectures, notebooks, blogs, and other assets to advance their technical point of view.

Outcomes

    • Develop a technical strategy for Telco, Media & Entertainment Go-To-Market – develop execution plan, understand key use cases, be the customer-facing expert to ultimately drive new customers and revenue growth
    • Work closely with sales and presales team to drive strategy and win technical POCs for customers across the globe for Telco, Media & Entertainment
    • Partner with marketing to develop Telco, Media & Entertainment content, collateral, notebook blogs, and demand generation plan
    • Attend key industry events and plan & execute Databricks customer and partner events events
    • Work closely with partners to develop strategic relationships & reference architectures for partner-led Telco, Media & Entertainment Solutions to drive adoption and train SI partners on Databricks
    • Ensure Databricks has security messaging and positioning for the Telco, Media & Entertainment industry
    • Identify and built out demo’s for repeatable use cases where they can develop solutions to drive higher revenue
    • Secure public datasets and develop a library of notebooks across cloud-first use cases
    • Act as a thought leader in the industry by authoring whitepapers, speaking at events, and engaging with customers to ensure the technical win

Competencies

    • High energy, self-starter who can work independently in a fast-paced, geographically dispersed, high growth environment
    • Experience implementing data architectures, technical strategies, and data products in complex telco or media environments
    • Minimum 7 years experience working in analytics or technology in the Telco, Media & Entertainment Vertical including experience across at least one of the following segments: wireless/wireline/satellite operator, broadcasting, film, publishing, new media, agencies, business information, and/or sports & entertainment
    • Expert level knowledge in at least one of the following domains: OSS/BSS, telco retail, fleet management, ad-tech, mar-tech, content supply chain/media asset management, direct-to-consumer/over-the-top subscription solutions
    • Strong communication skills, presentation experience, and ability to drive instant credibility with customers including CXO, IT, and business leaders
    • Experience working in a software company and working with cross-functional resources to built-out vertical solutions on an existing technology platform that has generated revenue and value for the customer
    • Experience working with sales and technical presales and building out go-to-market sales kits to drive market penetration including the development of architectures, notebooks, blogs, and other sales collateral
    • Hands-on experience with program managing vertical solutions which includes: collecting, tracking, and prioritizing vertical business requirements, working with technical resources to ensure timelines are met, collaborating with marketing to develop marketing assets and event planning, working with partner team to track partner relationship progress ensuring key milestones are met
    • Hands-on experience with Sales Enablement programs
    • Ability to travel 40-50% of the time depending on customer events and sales team requirements including international travel
