About This Job

Nielsen’s Watch group is looking for an experienced Principal JavaScript Developer to join our Digital Engineering team. You will be involved in the full life-cycle of multiple framework software development kit (SDK) that enable measuring live and on-demand TV viewing.

Responsibilities

• • Develop solutions for the Nielsen Digital SDK that meets the requirements for requested features
  • Develop technical requirements and designs for the solutions
  • Develop the code that implements the requested design
  • Provide analysis on client or internal issues identified with the Digital SDK’s
  • Implement Test Driven Development practices in all solutions including automated unit test cases

Qualifications

• • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and/or Computer Science with proven experience
  • Expert with native JavaScript development
  • Expert knowledge on network protocols HTTP/HTTPS
  • Experience designing and developing solutions on AWS
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and other DevOps tools
  • Experienced with Gulp, Babel, and other Javascript tools
  • Experience with NodeJS
  • Experience with CORS/REST
  • Good knowledge of JSON and JSONP
  • Experience with audio/video player development (streaming and on-demand) a plus
  • Knowledge of audio/video stream formats a plus (HLS, MPEG-DASH)
  • Knowledge of ID3 tags a plus
