Job description
Multiple Openings. Software Engineer II (CastleGate) for Wayfair LLC in Boston, MA to build and maintain highly scalable systems for the CastleGate software team to process data for order fulfillment, inventory management and invoicing; perform design and full stack development to create reusable application components; develop technical stack using PHP, jQuery, JavaScript, AJAX, and SQL Server; interface with managers to perform requirements gathering; and perform code development, testing and production deployment to create applications that meet business needs. Requires Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus two years’ experience performing web programming using PHP, JavaScript, and SQL. One year of experience must include: Performing web development using PHP, JavaScript and SQL, and performing full-stack web programming using PHP, JavaScript, JQuery, Mustache; Performing version control using GIT; Employing engineering and optimization best practices regarding frontend web standards, code maintainability, page rendering, and browser performance; Developing web applications to ensure cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility for fulfillment systems; Defining test plans and performing unit testing; Performing SQL database development including designing queries, and triggers and stored procedures; Utilizing Jenkins to schedule jobs and build deployment packages; Interfacing with business product leaders and engineers to gather requirements and translate requirements into system design; and Analyzing warehouse/supply chain workflow patterns and order fulfillment workflow patterns in order to build solutions that meet business needs.
