Multiple Openings. Software Engineer III (Ad Tech & Customer Intelligence/Campaign Automation) for Wayfair LLC in Boston, MA to develop and enhance integration platform to automate marketing tasks and connect with advertising partner APIs; process large data sets via complex SQL and VSQL queries to build efficient platform that processes historical performance data; serve as a Subject Matter Expert to vendors by specializing in APIs such as Google Adwords API, Bing Ads API, AppNexus Instant Audience Service, Facebook Graph API, Facebook Custom Audience API, etc; address diverse business problems with technology stacks including LAMP stack (CentOS, Nginx, MSSQL, PHP) with JavaScript, Python (CentOS, Python, MSSQL, Vertica) and Java stack (CentOS, Apache, MSSQL, Apache Storm, Kafka); direct system testing and validation procedures; and mentor junior engineers and develop their knowledge of technology stacks and business goals. Requires Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus two years’ experience performing PHP, Java, and SQL design and development or, alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and five years’ experience performing PHP, Java, and SQL design and development. One year of experience must include: Performing full stack web design and development using PHP, JavaScript, JQuery, Mustache, Handlebars, HTML, and CSS to ensure cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility; Performing design and development using Java to create real time scalable applications using distributed stream processing frameworks such as Apache Storm, and queueing frameworks such as Apache Kafka; Utilizing Jenkins to deploy application code into server environments; Interfacing with business product leaders and engineers to gather requirements and translate requirements into system design; Performing relational SQL database development and conceptualization including designing RDBMS, queries, triggers and stored procedures; Performing data ETL in MSSQL and analytical databases such as Vertica; Performing version control using GIT; Scripting using Python to create new workflows using workflow management frameworks such as Apache Airflow; Performance tuning in MSSQL and VSQL environments; and Defining test plans and performing unit testing.
