Multiple Openings. Software Engineer III (Storefront Engineering/PPD Competitive Intelligence) for Wayfair LLC in Boston, MA. Design software architecture, create technical designs, and develop applications in an agile environment to support competitive intelligence and dynamic pricing; lead sprint estimation, planning, kanban operations and retrospectives; lead Competitive Intelligence software engineering team in supporting existing infrastructure and building technical solutions for new business initiatives; leverage distributed computing platforms such as Hadoop, Kafka and Spark to scale applications; develop and improve pricing infrastructure that generates prices based on business defined rules, factoring margin components, shipping estimates, product globalization and currency conversions using multiple technologies including Python, C#, F#, PowerShell, PHP, and SQL; develop and maintain web-based tools using PHP, JavaScript, React.js, backbone.js, jQuery, DataTables, ASP.NET, C# and ASP, to administer business operations and reporting; orchestrate continuous integration using Jenkins and Kibana, and log statistical information in Graphite or Influx DB for data graphing. Requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus two years of experience performing Python and SQL design and development or, alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and five years of experience performing Python and SQL design and development. One year of experience must include: Performing web development using PHP, JavaScript and SQL; Defining code test plans and performing unit, integration, and functional testing; Performing full stack design and development using HTML, CSS and JavaScript to create scalable applications; Utilizing Jenkins and Puppet to deploy application code into server environments; Interfacing with business product leaders and engineers to gather requirements and translate requirements into system design; Performing SQL database development including designing RDBMS, queries, triggers and stored procedures and performing data ETL in MSSQL and MySQL environments; Analyzing, troubleshooting, and tuning SQL Server replication, and performing version control using GIT; Performing software engineering in an agile environment, including code reviews, code deploys, and monitoring; Scripting using Python, Transact SQL, and PowerShell, and performance tuning in MSSQL and MySQL environments; and Utilizing advanced Excel, including manipulating data sets and performing regression functions for data analysis, and performing relational database design and conceptualization.
