Software Engineer – Tools – Bose Automotive 1017 views

Job description

The Software Engineer for Tools will be responsible for developing and maintaining customized software tools for embedded software engineering team in Bose Automotive Systems Division. The embedded software tools will help developers and testing engineers to diagnose, configure and debug the production embedded software system.

Requirements

  • Experience in developing Windows applications, familiar with design architectures
  • Solid understanding of .net and/or other modern development frameworks using C#, Java or other OOP
  • Scripting language skills in Perl and Python
  • Experience/knowledge in developing real-time embedded software in C or C++ is a plus
  • Software development skills and knowledge/experience in software engineering best practices (i.e. modularity, extensibility, reusability and maintainability)
  • Additional skills including software configuration management and administration, software infrastructure changes and re-design, automation
  • Ability to work effectively with other team members including embedded application development, system and quality engineers
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, including ability to produce clear and concise technical software documentation
  • Self-driven attitude and willingness to help the others

Preferred

  • Application software design, implementation and enhancement experience/knowledge
  • DevOp view in CI, build and release process with Agile practice
  • Automotive industry experience
  • Embedded software engineering experience
  • Mobile application development experience

Tools

  • ElectricCommander/ElectricFlow
  • Subversion, GIT
  • JIRA defect tracking
  • Continuous integration tool (e.g. Jenkins)

Education

  • MS Computer Engineering/Science or MS Electrical Engineering with Software focus
